Class Descriptions

 

American Heart Association (AHA) - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Courses

All information follows the "2010" Guidelines established by the International Conference on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care:

  • Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider: This course is designed for healthcare workers and anyone needing adult, child and infant Basic Life Support/AED training as a part of their job requirements or prerequisites for an Allied Health Program. Upon successful completion of the class the student will receive a 2 year BLS Certification Card.
  • Heartsaver: This course is appropriate for anyone who needs to learn CPR/AED, including corporate and retail employees, security, law enforcement, health and fitness staff and anyone who needs a course completion card in CPR. At the completion of the class, students will receive a 2 year CPR Heartsaver Certification Card.

 

American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) Courses

All information follows the "2010" Guidelines established by the International Conference on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care.

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the Community and Workplace: This course is for persons who do not work in the healthcare field but are occupationally required or just desire to have adult, child and infant CPR knowledge and skills, such as emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents and babysitters. Upon successful completion of the class the student will receive a 2-year CPR/AED Certification Card.
  • Basic First Aid: This program is for individuals who require or desire elementary first aid knowledge and skills with a focus on adults, children and infants, includes emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents and babysitters. The student will receive a 2-year certification upon successful completion of the class.
  • Bloodborne Pathogen: This course is for anyone whose job description may involve handling or possibly being exposed to blood, blood products, blood components, bodily fluids or other potential infectious materials. At the completion of this class the student will receive a 1-year Bloodborne Pathogen Certificate.

 

Agency for Persons With Disabilities

  • Medication Administration and Supervision of Self Administration of Medication: The purpose of this class is to certify unlicensed direct care staff serving individuals with developmental disabilities in the safe handling and administration of medication. Course approved by Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
